When you’re planning your perfect vacation to Orlando, most Disney fanatics make getting the full Walt Disney World Resort experience a top priority. However, though you can plan an entire trip where you never step off of Disney property, sometimes our mickey-head shaped blinders can keep us from discovering some serious gems!
The Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resort is a perfect example of an off-property option that is worth considering. They have some of the best amenities in the city while still providing the convenience of on-property Disney resorts!
Falling under the Hilton Umbrella (we’re looking at you, HHonors members), this resort is part of the Waldorf Astoria brand. As an official Walt Disney World hotel, the Waldorf Astoria Orlando offers luxury motorcoach service to all Disney parks as well as Disney Springs. Before you head to the parks, though, you can stop by the concierge desk if you still need to get your tickets, or even gear up at the on-site Disney store.
So now we know that you won’t be missing out on any Disney goodness by choosing the Waldorf Astoria Orlando…but what will you be missing if you don’t?

If you’re more inclined to lounging in the shade, cabanas (for up to 8 guests) are available to rent for the day. Plus, rental includes more than just a comfy place to hang out:
• Complimentary soft drinks, water, and fruit platter
• Poolside service featuring cuisine from Aquamarine

Is it Tee Time yet?
Of the activity options available at the Waldorf Astoria of Orlando, one of the most popular is the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club. Touted by Golf Magazine as one of the “Top Courses You Can Play”, this gorgeous course is sure to be your golf-lover’s favorite!
The course offers a Pro Shop, with merchandise for purchase as well as club and shoe rental if you don’t want to lug your golf bag all the way from home. You also have the opportunity to make use of the sizable practice range and putting green; better yet, the use of the practice facility is included in your daily resort fee! Before you head out on the green be sure to check out the dress-code listed on the Waldorf Astoria Orlando’s website to make sure your duds are up to par. Plus, if you’re really ready to take some swings off of your game, inquire about private lessons available onsite!
Just for the Kids
In addition to the sparkling pools, the Waldorf Astoria Orlando offers some great spaces just for your munchkins! The WA kid’s club (currently not available due to COVID-19 precautions, but hopefully back up and running soon) is available for kids ages 5-12, and offers either a day program or an evening program full of crafts, swimming, movies, lunch or dinner and lots of free-play fun! This can be a great opportunity to get some quiet-time or enjoy some adult fun while you know your kids are well-taken care of and having a blast. The resort also offers seasonal activities, such as family mini-golf, poolside s’mores, “dive-in” movies, live music and scavenger hunts. All year ‘round you can check out the garden area near the cabanas for games like cornhole, foosball and giant tic-tac-toe! Also, don’t forget that a stay at the Waldorf gives you access to awesome amenities at the Hilton Bonnet Creek next door…including the Funzone Arcade which is open 24/7, located right next to the Disney store!
